We work with 100% alpaca and baby alpaca from Peru's leading alpaca spinners. It's a natural fiber: it biodegrades the way our own hair does, unlike acrylic, a petroleum byproduct. That's part of why it costs more, and why it lasts longer.
Andahuaylillas, where weaving is a centuries-old craft.
Our workshop is in Andahuaylillas, Quispicanchi, Cusco. "Awasqa" means "weavings" in Quechua, the language Paulina has spoken since she was a child.
Hands that matter.
About ten weavers from the area work with us, most of them mothers. They can bring their children along, the same arrangement Paulina received back in 1998.
